A diesel pile hammer uses the impact force of a diesel hammer to drive piles into the ground. A diesel pile hammer is essentially a single-cylinder two-stroke engine. It uses diesel to burn and explode in the cylinder to do work. It pushes the piston to reciprocate in the cylinder to hammer and drive piles. A diesel pile hammer and a pile frame together are called a diesel pile driver.
